Since some time has passed since the reference manager Sente was abandoned, I was wondering what you are using for a reference manager. If you are using several reference managers, what do you use each for?
I personally use Bookends as my main depository. With the recommendation of @Luhmann in this forum, I am using the web app, Paperpile, for its annotation feature in the beta version.

For many years, I was using Mendeley, but moved to Zotero a month ago. I've described it here:

Still using Paperpile. The iOS app (in beta) keeps getting better. They also have a beta MS Word Plugin, but haven't tried that because I don't use word. They claim that the technology behind the Word plugin will eventually allow it to work with Ulysses and other apps as well.

What features do you find in Endnote 9x stand out to you @Ahmed fawzy?

I am using endnote 5 years ago, and with version 9x, the new collaboration feature is very useful when you are working in a team

FWIS, this question also appears in various ways routinely on the Mac Power Users group. Search just for Bookends to get started.
https://talk.macpowerusers.com
The main list on macOS includes the ones below:
- Bookends
- EndNote
- JabRef
- Mendeley
- Paperpile
- Papers/Readcube
- Zotero

Thanks for the tip. I had a look at the forum at MacPower Users. Great resource. Thanks again!

Has anyone been using or trying out the Papers beta? I just ran across this new post from the rarely-updated Macademic blog about it:

I would be interested in your thoughts about Citavi. Thanks.

Note: Citavi is Windows only. (The Mac installation instructions tells you to install a Windows virtual machine...)

Thanks @satis for this update. I played around with Papers today and liked it so much that I signed up for the year!
I have been using Bookends, but it is really in need for an overhaul of its user interface. Papers, in comparison, has a clean interface and is much more intuitive. I loved the way it handles annotation and was surprised that it is detected the references in a paper and listed them for import into Papers!
