Online alternatives to DevonThink?

I’ve been browsing this forum the past few days and wanted to pick the brains of all you smart people here. I’m searching for an online alternative to DevonThink. Fees are a non-issue. I’m looking for an alternative to DevonThink because being hosted locally and only on MAC it can’t be imported to our work environment which is made entirely of Windows machines and since we’re often on the road.
Requirements are that a software:
-Be accessible across multiple platforms
-Be capable of OCR conversion
-Categorize and group images based on their contents
You’ve sold me if the software does:
-Automatic grouping based on OCR generated files
and/or
-Can generate visible relationship maps
My organization is looking to streamline vendor outreach and our staff are on the road a lot. Having a software to convert static images into OCR files to organize *hundreds* of business-cards would help to help in ways that perhaps need not be mentioned. I’ve come to the conclusion that my best bet is to subscribe to DropBox Business. I am hoping someone can challenge my stated solution with better alternatives?

There are several roundups of cloud-based document management solutions that you might want to consult.

I'm interested as well, as I'm not really comfortable with Evernote as a DevonThink replacement. But price *is* an object, and I don't think I can afford the cloud services that could compete with DevonThink. I upgraded from DevonThink Office to DevonThink 3, and I'm not smitten with new version.

What are some more options you would recommend personally? I simply ask because most of these utilities within the list don't host OCR capabilities? I will look into EFileCabinet for its full capabilities later before comparing it to DropBox. Thanks!

I still use Nimbus Note Pro and STILL don’t understand why more don’t.
A great all-platform approach with OCR (only in PRO).

Is there really a mac desktop (offline) version? The front page doesn't list it, but I saw a link on another page which didn't work. It said it wasn't available in my app store/region (US)...

What don't you like about DT3? I'm considering an upgrade

I'm having trouble getting it to work with the Fuji SnapScan.

Thank you everyone. Will be going with my original conclusion of paying for service with DropBox Business. For my reasoning it's the most storage for my buck in terms of cloud service, processes files with OCR remotely, and we'll probably use it for more uses than organizing our resources.

I decided not to upgrade to DT3 and instead purchased Foxtrot Pro Search. I haven't looked back. I don't need mobile databases and was using DT more as a searchable repository. For this criteria I'm really happy with the setup. I'm now using Scansnap's own software to scan and am not having any issues with it.

Hey Makana,
I'd advise you check out Slite or Slab. They're billed as "team-based-wikis."
I've switched my team's documentation over from G-docs to Slite. It's a dream. You can anchor link anything, and it has a file manager—with a sidebar. (Although, the old sidebar was better.)
I'm not sure it's quite what you're looking for but, as it doesn't have OCR, but... it may get you closer to finding your golden goose.
