Understood regarding the export, never an easy process. Even publishing to HTML to internal web us not great. Have had good results using the Epub for some work reference documents.
There are so many little things that Treepad does that are not available in others. Being small size is a bonus. Cherry tree is huge compared to it and lacks the features / ease of use.

Downloaded here no problem from Chrome. Just need to click on the down arrow and select that the file is safe
Better safe than sorry right ?
BTW, the new Edge (Chromium, Canary channel) is really nice (and fast !)
