I’m running the new version without any problems, although the upgrade facility is clearly broken (Eduard apologised for that and says it’ll appear in the next update).
It’s brilliant. That’s the only word for it. One of the neatest uses of a mixed note-taking/calendar app I’ve ever seen. Ideal for bullet journaling, GTD or any other systematic task management approach you can think of.
And it does need some thought. To make the most of the tight integration of Notes and Calendar, you need to think carefully about how you want to handle projects and tasks – exactly where you’re going to put them and so on. There are so many different ways of handling “today” and “tomorrow” it’s almost funny. The Letterspace-like (requiescat in pace, formerly one of my favourite Markdown editors) list of mentions and tags is also profoundly helpful.
In short, it’s a whole different app! I’m taking a step-by-step approach to reincorporating it into my task management workflow.
Cheers!

Hi, all,
Just to let everyone know. There’s a bug in the version that you get today through the app store which fails to give you the option to pay for the upgrade. Eduard told me they have submitted a corrected version and it should be up on the app store today or tomorrow. The discounted upgrade pricing will be extended.

I’ve run into an issue with it. After not being able to upgrade to it (versus buying it), I deleted the program completely with Mac Cleaner, then tried to reinstall it from AppStore. It goes into perpetual installing (an incomplete circle). When I click on the circle, it gives me a cloud again. If I click the cloud again, it goes into perpetual install.

Sorry to hear the problems others have had. The update to v2 was already on offer in the updates section of the Mac App Store and installed without issues. No update yet for iOS on offer in the iOS App Store.

This morning, my system updated to the “fixed” upgrade-bearing version of NotePlan 2.0 and asked me if I wanted to upgrade. So I did (price is very reasonable). And it’s working fine.
