Whois says the “owner” is located in Panama. But, that is all dependent on who and how the site registration was filed.

Dynalist FAQ says
“Where is my data hosted? Your data is hosted on DigitalOcean in the United States, where the file attachments you upload are hosted on AWS provided by Amazon.”

Their website mentions the developers names—if you’re into parsing the meaning of such things.

They have a Twitter account you could ask “where are you”?

They have a forum also

Thanks for the info. I find it a bit curious as to how unforthcoming they are about revealing the actual location of the business.
Having said that, WorkFlowy are not that much clearer about it on their public-facing site either, though once you subscribe, they do reveal their address, and it is also published on 3rd party sites like Bloomberg:
https://www.bloomberg.com/research/stocks/private/snapshot.asp?privcapId=274433958
Searching for the names of the two developers reveals that they were educated in Canada, though some of the info suggested that at least one of them is based in San Francisco.
I would understand why a small web business wouldn’t want to publish their phone number, but to at least reveal the mailing address or the country they are based in would help develop some trust.
I am seriously considering a subscription, but not even knowing which country the company is based in is holding me back, as it would limit the nature of information I would be willing to use this service for.

They seem to be Waterloo grads, located in California.

A little update since digesting your experiences and recommendations from this thread.
I’ve modified my practice to consolidate some lists I was managing in OF so that they are a single item with an OmniOutliner file linked in the notes. I’ve also discovered this gem of a script that’ll convert views in OF to OO files (why isn’t this standard in the software to begin with?!).
