I bought Mellel recently. It may be of great use - it has an iOS version, which is nice - but I’m not sure if the export options are enough for my use. It doesn’t export to docx or epub, and I don’t see a good fit for piping a Mellel project through Pandoc.
Mellel is often criticized for a steep learning curve, but it’s really not so bad. There are some concepts to figure out, such as the difference between global and document styles. Searching for a style
The story points feature in Mellel is intriguing, and I’d like to figure out to work that idea into my editing setup.
Nisus will let me put an external links in document comments, so I can link from points in a Nisus document to Devonthink items, like groups, tags, or documents.
Unfortunately, there’s no way I can see to link from Devonthink back to a Nisus comment. Even so, the ability to link from a document comment into a pile of cross referenced notes might be handy.
So many things are nearly perfect.
