I just found an interesting web app from Steve and it made me think I need to share one that I came across and have been using for a couple of weeks. Nimbus Notes is quite impressive. Web, Mac, Windows, iOS, Android ... it’s covered. I’ve been syncing Web, PC, and Nimbus for iPad and haven’t seen any obvious troubles, I’ve really been impressed. Not much discussion here and I’m wondering if there is a reason? I’m wondering if I will mention Nimbus and I’ll hear, “You don’t know???.” Great web clipper with Nimbus app, by the way.

Interesting question, Donovan. I did try NimbusNotes not long after it first appeared, and liked it very much. But at that point, they were still a bit chaotic, in that it wasn’t clear to me - or even to them, as it happened! - that the free version doesn’t offer a proper full-text search function. I had a brief correspondence with them, and they were very amiable, but failed to explain this fact. So I gave it up.
Looking at it again, it’s clear that it’s aspiring to compete with Evernote - and it looks like a very capable alternative, if it really does all the things it says it does (OCR etc.). But it’s a tad expensive for one - like me - who’s endeavouring to move away from app subscriptions. The free version is effectively useless for my purposes, because of the lack of search and various other missing functions.
Cheers,
Bill
