I think I’m going to get a copy of Sheetplanner. I haven’t looked at the price, yet, but that’s just my keen skills at avoiding impulse purchasing.
First, I convince myself something is worth having, no matter the price. This constitutes a somewhat manic cooling off period, then I’m always pleasantly surprised at the bargain I find. I am still a neophyte in this method. My wife is a master at it.
Hopefully, it’s not a subscription thing.
OmniFocus would be hard to replace, but I want an organizational tool that keeps stuff in separate files. I could use folders in OmniFocus, that would work. Some projects get mulled and then discarded. I’d like to have all my notes and to-dos in one bucket (Devonthink or just a folder) so I can trash the whole sorry mess in one stroke.
Archiving is better that way, too, because I don’t have to look at old stuff forever. OmniFocus is great, but it’s transient and repetitive stuff.
The other reasons for getting Sheetplanner are the developer is in Virginia. My wife grew up near Howardsville. Since Howardsville is best thought of as a singularity rather than a domain, “near” is a better description than “in.” It’s a wonderful area. If my wife questions yet another to-do list purchase, I’ll tell her it’s because it reminds me of her. Yeah, that’ll work…
The other reason is because the developer posted here. The tone of this place is nice, and developers that have an eye for the kind of folks that hang out here can’t be all bad.
To the app store for me, I believe.

Hi Amontillado.
SheetPlanner is document based, so you have a separate document for each outline.
In the future we plan on allowing for document bundles where multiple outlines can exist in the same document and can be navigated to via a sidebar with folders.
While everything we are adding in version 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 are free upgrades to the current shipping version, I am not certain that this feature (multiple outlines in the same document) will be in the 1.X series of releases. We may do a pro version or a 2.0 release but thats all some ways off. I just wanted to state that in the interest of full disclosure.
Thanks,
Peter

Hi Amontillado,
We look forward to your purchase of SheetPlanner. I think you will love it. We have a great roadmap and are just about to go into the 1.1 beta cycle.
SheetPlanner 1.0 is not a subscription, its a one time purchase.
Feel free to contact us at support@sheetplanner.com if you have any questions.
Regards,
Peter

Also, he’s very responsive to questions, via mail, on Facebook and via the App Store.
