No, their implementation of subtasks is currently terribly primitive, and only has keyboard-commands for indents/outdents in its web version. Much better implementations from Things, or TickTick, or Taskade, or lots of other apps.

I have similar feelings. Subtasks are not the same as checklists, and the option to have both available is the way to go from my perspective. I do find it frustrating when market people call checklists subtasks. They do not have the same properties as subtasks, and that distinction should be recognized. If I could get Todoist to do one thing, it would be to move their notes tot a right hand pane. I hate having to have them in a call-up window as they are not visible. There are other improvements they could make which would take their product into the next realm, but the notes thing is most annoying.

I agree completely on this. Use todoist and it irritates me that the notes interface is like comments. I also don’t like how the reminders and repeating tasks isn’t an explicit interface like MLO or most other task managers. Though it’s otherwise low-friction (and very good at sub-tasking/nesting) which is why I still prefer it as a whole.

Taskade is another app that foolishly insists on treating notes like comments.
2Do’s option to switch between “checklists” and “Projects” gives one nice flexibility about how to handle sub-tasks. (Projects sub-tasks can have their own due dates, checklists can’t.)

Interestingly, FileMaker competitor Ninox (a German app) has just added multiple possible views to its already impressive panoply of features, including GANTT and Kanban views.
It’s an increasingly interesting option for those wishing to construct their Very Own info management app; it also supports rich-text memo fields, for example (fully searchable).
More about Ninox (strictly speaking, Ninox Database) at https://ninoxdb.de/en/ (without the /en/ for German speakers).
Cheers!
