AgileTortoise, maker of the popular Drafts app on iOS (recently updated to v5) announced it is planning to introduce Drafts for macOS later in 2018 (“we hope”):

This release will **not** include Actions—the key Drafts feature for automating what the program does. “We do plan full action support for the app in the future”.
No Windows, Linux, etc., version. “We do not currently have plans for Drafts on platforms other than iOS, macOS and watchOS.”
Drafts is a good general purpose Markdown editor—without Actions many will consider it somewhat crippled, but we’ll see.

That Dark Mode next to the white sidebar is a painful visual contrast, but overall it’s a really good start. It will never match the power of BBEdit (whose basic version is free) but even now Drafts’ Mac UI is better, and when actions do come over (presumably dependent on Apple) it could offer a really compelling choice.
