If someone else posted this then, apologies.
Outlinely now has images. And they’re inline too. A recent update in the MacAppstore.
But…
but But BUT!
I think they’re a tad too small. I’m think’n it’s because they may be based on the line height? Paragraph height? Not sure.
It would be nice to have some kind of re-sizing option available.
But you know what? I don’t care.
Why?
The guy developing this is still developing it. And because of that: two thumbs up!
Keep it up there bucko.
Mr. Outlinely, if you’re reading, please make the image sizes controllable. (And add around a border-radius:5px; to the image borders. It’ll make everything it look even better.)
Oh, and before I forget, make all the text in the sidebar smaller—right around 22-25% small (In fact, just go right ahead: copy Ulysses’ side bar.)
Nice work though.
It’s getting there!

I saw that update yesterday and also thought the images were tiny. Not sure why, but maybe that will get resolved.
The release note was a bit misleading: “now you can insert images directly to your outline by drag-and-drop…” Well, sort of. As long as drag-and-drop is from Safari to Outlinely—doesn’t work with any other source on the iPad. You can insert an image from Photos, which is how the tiny images come in.
In response to a question, the developer replied they might add drag-and-drop from other sources at some point.
Yes, it’s progress. Yes, it’s good to see Outlinely getting some smidgens of love recently.

Any word on how it was updated on the Mac, and how images appear in outlines there? In the MAS there are screenshots with smallish inline images but there’s really no info about it….
I’m interested, but as an owner of OmniOutliner Essentials the cost for the Pro upgrade is the same as Outlinely. And I’m probably only going to pay for one.

On macOS an image dragged from Safari is always the same tiny image in an Outlinely outline. They’ve invented a new file package called “.richoutline” that contains an image folder with the full-size images, but they don’t render in the outline as full size. In a PDF export the images are rendered full size.
It’s kind of a half-baked solution.

Great update from Outlinely just landed, complete with easy opening of notes in separate windows (by double-clicking) and always-on-top feature.
The new features are coming thick and fast from Glam Development at the moment! Outlinely has been promoted to my main note-taking app!
Cheers,
Bill
