... and where all those flat UI design elements have the soul of a Andy Warhol tomato soup can painting.

I have tried to reproduce this on my machines, switching between notes, dragging things around and resizing things and I have seen no appreciable flicker.
I have an old desktop machine which was a state of the art gaming machine once upon a time which has an old nVidia graphics card and a more or less current state of the art laptop with whatever Asus put in their laptops to do graphics.
Perhaps you ought to report this on the Right Note website as a bug in the program.
It can’t do any harm and it Mr Bauer may be able to solve the problem.

The parts that flicker for me (only when the whole app window is being resized) are the toolbar icons above the tree (do you have those on?) and the ‘Recent/Frequent/History’ tab titles in the History panel. If you switch to the Global search panel with F9, the whole search panel repaints/flickers as you resize the app window.
I don’t resize the app very often, so this isn’t worrisome to me, although I agree it looks less than professional.

Yes now that you mention it the toolbars are drawn slightly later than the rest of the screen when resizing the window but this is such a small delay as to be barely perceptible.

I was unable to open http://www.bauerapps.com/rightnote/ and instead received the following message
“This domain (bauerapps.com) expired on 08/02/2020. You can retrieve your domain by clicking here.”
Does anybody on this forum have up to date information on Rael Bauer and his Software ‘Rightnote’? Many thanks
