Help finding software

I'd like some help recalling an information software I discovered from comments on this site. My memory of it is foggy but here are some things I remember. From clearest to vaguer:

* it had a paid desktop version
* a free web version which automatically gets deactivated if you didn't log in for a certain amount of time
* it worked with blue backgrounds by default a lot
* it has existed for many years and is relatively unknown
* it was used by default for mind-mapping but it had different modes for using it as textboxes too
* the producer was german

Hope this is enough information to find it again! It was an interesting app.

This sounds like InfoRapid/Knowledgebasebuilder, or one of its related sibling softwares - www.inforapid.de

Why delete the post when others might benefit from it?

cos the probability of anyone ever in this or any future lifetime being helped by extremely outdated data is near non-existent

obviously

Ah; that's the "glass half empty" reply you'll NEVER hear from a true CRIMPer. We thrive on extremely outdated data! And often, on extremely outdated data-manipulating apps!

Obviously, you don't know that for sure, and I don't think a text post will put us in danger of running out of server space, so yeah, we'll keep the post.

Talking of InfoRapid KnowledgeBaseBuilder, I'm amused to find that the macOS version is still being developed and is now up to version 6.5!

And a remarkably powerful piece of software it is, too. I've been having a play (it costs peanuts), and it's really rather fun. The full-text search engine is astonishingly powerful, but it's got a lot of other nice little features that make it a potentially useful repository for references.

Having said that, it's pretty whacky. Like all such apps, you have to put time in to get the most out of it. But for the price (GBP 8.99), it's certainly worth a look.

Yes, impressive value-for-your-money.

automatic generation of mindmaps; I havn't seen anything like this before:

http://www.buildyourmap.com/textanalysis.htm

that is a brilliant idea because you create the mindmaps without repeating already existing text.
