Peter,
From what I’ve seen, it looks very much like the kind of apps that would be useful to me, as I love Gantt charts. But one question immediately comes to mind : I’ve already been using ProjectWizard’s Merlin ( which I find better than Omnigroup’s Omniplan ) for a few years now and like it very much. and SheetPlanner seems very much a competitor to these. What would be your main selling argument for someone who would be looking into your app VS the other ones ? Is it going to be cheaper ? Or easier to use ? So far the main differentiation feature I see is the way calendar’s are integrated within Sheetplanner ( both Merlin and Omniplan sync with Apple’s Calendar, but don’t have one within the app ).
Also, I think you should most definitely consider an iOS version. Users are going to be screaming for one once you release this on Mac.

Skywatcher,
I think that for many people something like Merlin or Omniplan are just way to much.
With SheetPlanner you can just jot your list down in a free form outline and add structure as you go. all you need to do is add start and finish dates and click the timeline button and you have a general sense of how tasks relate to one another over time.
Also, you may have an outline that contains both project and non project related items, maybe some research on kitchens and then another part of the outline that deals with the timeline to remodel it.
I think it will definitely be easier to use than any Project Management app they try.
The long term roadmap for the app is very extensive and will allow for the management of information types that are not project management specific.
Truth is, I have entered into this entirely on a hunch. My gut has always told me that there was an opportunity here for something document based, not rigid like GTD or not complex like a Project Management tool.
Lets hope I am right!
Thanks for the feedback.

Skywatcher,
One other comment.
If a user is happily using Merlin or OmniPlan then I would see little reason for them to buy SheetPlanner for Project Management. If they are comfortable with those tools and need the functionality, then SheetPlanner would be a downgrade.
Thanks,
Peter

I agree. In fact, I’m myself underusing Merlin, as I have no need for the Resources and the Costs features. I really bought it for visual planning of projects with Gantt . I think there is a market indeed for simpler and cheaper ( both Merlin and Omniplan are over 200€ ) Project Management software.
Ironically, just after posting, I went to ProjectWizard’s page to discover , much to my horror, that they might be switching to a subscription plan… That’s a no-no for me.
