In the Agenda thread, someone mentioned Noteplan, a markdown/calendar app. When I was looking at it, I ran across another one called Wri.pe. The tutorial was kind of cool: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWKV6Z3pSW0
But there are only two ways to login: Facebook (which I tried, authorized, and took me nowhere), and Github, which I do not belong to. So I haven’t tried it. What is has going for it:
- nice, simple UI
- markdown screen with a smaller, optional preview
- a calendar view, to tie notes to days. Mention a date anywhere, it goes to the calendar
- ubiquitous. Supposed to work on any platform, but only through browsers. So not an offline tool.
- Looks to have a pretty good search function
- Can back up to Dropbox or Evernote
For me, the lack of a hierarchy or tags limits its usefulness or appeal. They’re working on collaborative and offline tools, though. Kinda fun little app, although some might find the color scheme a little kidlike.
