P.S. If your needs are PDF reading and annotation specifically, then again Samsung Chromebook Pro would probably offer a better experience due to the aspect ratio (wider in portrait mode than C302, i.e. more of an iPad or Surface-like aspect ratio), and it would also give you the option to annotate PDFs via handwritten notes using the stylus (with the Squid Android app), or sign PDF documents by hand, which is kind of a nice feature.
Pixelbook can of course do all of this, but for double the price…

Ken, I have an Acer R11 Chromebook and it has had support for a long time (one of the first few that had it), and I jumped in with Android apps right away. At the beginning it was what you would expect. However it’s night and day now. It’s pretty darn seamless. The Google Play Store knows you are on a Chromebook and all the apps will say whether they are fully compatible, partially compatible, or not compatible. The universal apps are beautiful on the Chromebook - they are responsive in that the app displays the proper view on a phone and a proper view on the Chromebook. Most all the apps are compatible now. The integration is what has been impressive to me. Of course, it’s all within the Google ecosystem (Chromebook, Android, Play Store) and you can seamlessly move between Chrome apps and Android apps on your Chromebook. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
