effective searching & finding your info

1. when you have extensive info
2. i believe the best way to find the relevant info is via search
3. i believe the best form/kind of search is granular search such as filters via ‘title only’ or ‘title + within note itself’
4. this was mentioned on http://www.outlinersoftware.com/topics/viewt/8149/0/wondering-if-there-would-be-any-options-instead-of-evernote-specifically-focused-on-good-search

5. i believe this best way of finding your info has already been expressed on the more knowledgeable and higher end of the Web
6. tho i do not have links, because if i did, i do not know how i’d be able to find/locate the relevant info

ill like to listen to what others know are better ways of finding your info via the specific examples of how other ways could be better

maybe there’s something im missing or haven’t yet heard of

what are specific examples of how exactly other ways of finding your info are clearly better?

this is a really difficult problem since it seems so far many things dont have good search, a good search would have:

* searching ‘only within titles’

* searching within specific parts of the content (such as tagging within content, but tagging adds additional tho it seems needed)

* search results should be fullscreen and contextual (not a tiny box where relevant info is hidden like onenote)

* links has to be editable to not clutter up search (for example dynalist can’t do this)

good search is important and seems to still be the biggest failing point among many things tho have to keeping looking into it

evernote does seem to have have the best search so far http://dev.evernote.com/doc/articles/search_grammar.php

* some things could ‘tag’ the title in some easy, good way and that would work, dunno of anything so far that can do that tho
