People - I am trying to [re]find a programme that was a bit like treesheets in that you could zoom into items to reveal see sub-entries of that 'parent - such that whole other outlines could reside therein. It was set up on an infinite canvas, and you created 'boxes' on it that could have other boxes in them, etc.
I appreciate this is woefully vague, but do any of you have any idea what I am struggling to remember?

MenAgerie.

I think you talk about iMapping. Unfortunately, it morphed into a web app. But you can still get the desktop app and continue using it.

Correction: There is still a desktop app for Windows and MacOS.

Thank you Franz - this is indeed what I was struggling to remember. Cheers

You're welcome.

Heiko Haller, the creator of iMapping, created a new tool called Infinity Maps, which is web-only. Things look prettier than in iMapping but apart from that I do not really see a reason why I should use it.

Better map sharing in infinity maps, is a good motive to use over imapping

Depending on what makes you sceptical about web software, these points may be interesting for you:
1) An offline app of Infinity Maps is planned, we are just not there yet, because we feel we first have to focus more on the basics and user experience.
2) If you hate monthly subscriptions: There is a free plan, and one-time payment options.
3) The old iMapping Tool is not being actively maintained anymore. The new Infinity Maps will be superseeding it in any respect and in many it already has – here is what's new:

- Share interactive maps online
- Undo/Redo
- Copy/Paste – also between Maps
- Large Selection of Templates
- Help Area: Tutorials, Feedback Board and much more
- Optimized Performance
- Improved Usability
- Coming later in July 2021: Real-Time Collaboration and Presentation Mode

So, be sure to check out Infinity Maps and stay tuned – we are making a lot of progress…
