Maybe they are starting to feel the Dynalist squeeze?
Though there was this comment:

I tried to quit for Dynalist instead of waiting for the sleeping giant to change, but the Dynalist has so many sync errors when edited from multiple devices that it’s no use to me, so I’m back

I personally haven’t had any sync errors with Dynalist, but I only tried using it on three devices.
The one thing where I prefer Workflowy over Dynalist is in how search results are treated. In Workflowy, the search results behave exactly like any other view, and you can edit, expand/collapse, and never have to touch the mouse. In Dynalist, you have to use the mouse to do anything with the search results - including scrolling through them. Other than that, the Dynalist features are really good - on desktop.
The iOS apps of both are pretty bad, but the Workflowy one is actually better. The Dynalist app can be very sluggish, to the point where it’s almost unusable. I gave up trying to move stuff around in both of them early on, and just used the iOS apps for viewing and editing within the already established structure. Of course, both my iPhone and iPad are five years old…

If anyone else loves Dynalist’s desktop app (as I do) and is frustrated by the sluggishness of their iOS app, please tell them. They are a company that is particularly responsive to user feedback and it is important to let them know that they are falling behind. I have not had sync issues, but the slowness makes the app unusable. I’ve encountered situations where it locked up for as much as ten seconds before I could use it again…
Personally, a good (native) iOS experience is for me now an essential feature of any app. I don’t even look at otherwise interesting apps like Agenda until they come out with promised iOS versions because so many apps claim they will do so and never do (or do so in a disappointing way). The apps I like best, even on the desktop, are generally those that launch with iOS in mind. Right now I use Mubu because even though it lacks many features of Dynalist, it has a great native iOS experience. I would love to see either Dynalist or Workflowy catch up (if not surpass) Mubu in this regard. (Mostly because I don’t like putting my data on Chinese servers.)
Workflowy has hired new staff and I’m glad to see that they are prioritizing the mobile experience. It is unclear if they will create a native app, but hopefully, they can at least create a good mobile app experience using web views. On that front, I have read that betas of the new iOS include new tools to make mobile safari better support web apps. Hopefully, that will help both Dynalist and Workflowy improve their mobile offerings…
