I have no idea what’s available on Windows, but as a longtime Mac/iOS owner of IA Writer and Ulysses, I wouldn’t call IA a replacement in any major way to the functionality and UI of Ulysses. I still love IA Writer, but I feel much more comfortable using my own font/color stylesheets in Ulysses, and there’s really no comparison in terms of features.
I do love IA’s free duospace font (based on IBM’s free-to-modify Plex font), and it’s available for both PC and Mac:

I could be wrong, but iA Writer seems more like a less fully featured version of WriteMonkey, and nothing at all like Ulysses.

Hi Satis and Bob.
I know that iA Writer does not match the features found in Ulysses. But I did not use many of them in Ulysses. For me Ulysses was a beautiful writing environment that allowed me to seamlessly work on my Mac and my iPad in the same document. And that’s what iA Writer does offer, too. And it’s available for Windows now - and that’s where I do most of my writing.
