I'd like to put in a good word for HoudahSpot. This is similar in function to "Find Any File", but is blazingly fast.

Great app. I've been using it for years. I have accumulated tens of thousands of text, html, pdf and epub files over the years and HoudahSpot does a better job than Spotlight in searching and narrowing searches by kind, date internal phrases, file extension, filesize, date, etc. A must-have.

They also make a prettier, less powerful alternative called Tembo that takes its UI cues from Spotlight.
