Anyone tried Notion? An interesting new(?) app that does docs, wikis, to-do lists, etc. I find the iOS app very difficult to use and the instructions are all based on using a keyboard, but the whole idea seems interesting and definitely of interest to this group.

While intriguing, I find I don't really like Notion. What it gains in flexibility with all these "blocks" it looses in its lack of structure. Similar to why I don't like MS OneNote I guess. One example of the kind of thing that drives me crazy is that you can create a Header (which appears in the sidebar) and then a bunch of items under it, but if you move the section header without selecting everything under it, only the header moves, not the sub-items. As a result you can easily destroy the entire document structure - something which makes collaboration a bit of a mess as well. Also lots of weird oversights, like the inability to paste text into a comment field. Feels like someone having fun programming without worrying about any of the details that matter...

I see this was mentioned back last summer when it was in beta.

Looks nice for Kanban. I like that it works offline.
But, I am surprised why the package is so huge=> more than 200mb.

So it does have folding - sort of. You get folding by adding a "toggle list block" which can hold other kinds of blocks within it and can all be folded. I find this way of doing things very strange - it means, for instance, that a todo list can't be folded but you can have a todo list inside a toggle. For now I've decided that Notion isn't for me...

when viewing a 'notion' page, at this point in time, you can't open links in new tab
looks like they have years and years to go.....
not very hopeful about this

Actually, if you hover over a link a paperclip icon will appear. Clicking on that opens the link in a new tab by default.
Notion recently updated with support for relational databases (very much like AirTable) and I've found it useful to use notion for a project I'm organizing right now. I do think, however, that it is a bit fussy and many of the features are not obvious to new users.

a page such as https://www.notion.so/Guides-FAQs-c17ecf17749d4dd09a0f42d2ce01fde0
a page that you are viewing, there's nothing on hover for me
maybe should say a page that isnt editable to you
---
"a project I’m organizing right now."
- what kind of data is being used?
- or it is a common use case?
been trying to find how airtable or similiar could be more helpful over g-sheets
overall, i feel like it's just better to use softwares for specific uses, like airtable or possibly that treesheets software, tho haven't fully tested this yet
