Longtime obsessive-compulsive lurker here - I found this interesting highlight tool recently, in case it’s of use to someone. It lets you create “collections”, and has a pre-defined set of color tags which you can give names to, and which are bound to the context of the collection. So this way you can have different tags for different collections.
Some pros:
-contextual tags
- you can view a capture of the whole page in the app
-clicking on the highlights jumps you to the relevant section in the webpage
-there’s also a document mode where you can take notes
-good export function for the highlights (well, I think it went as far as indented txt. so good is a bit relative here)
Cons:
- the app isn’t developed beyond basics
-it’s web-only
-no option to export the captured webpages
-you can either see the captured webpage, or the document at once as they show up at one fixed place
-there’s a premium option which lets you define colors, but the only way to get it is by referring friends. And that part looks abandoned.
There’s probably more but the landing page explains it all better than I can here.
