I kind of see your point - Contacts could do with a “date modified” field; Calendar is a little clunky, and Reminders is not very good at all.
But they all sync very, very fast, and work perfectly well. And leave plenty of room for app developers, too (there are many alternatives to Reminders that are both cheap/free and vastly superior). So I can’t get very worked up about it.
The new version of Notes in iOS 11 looks pretty cool, however (tables, freehand drawing)

Grrr ... I bought a refurbished iPad 4 a few months ago. Not supported by iOS 11.

I wouldnt say it puts pressure on Devonthink to Go. After all we have finder on the mac and I use Devonthink Pro Office massively.
It does put pressure on Readdle’s Documents though
