I like the product very much, and beta tested it, but even I shied from $40 a year. I just didn’t think I would use it enough. But this is more like it, and the product is certainly worthy of support.

I’m delighted to hear it. Outlinely has become one of my go-to info organisers (along with Bear and Ulysses). I keep trying to give MWeb and TextNut a chance (both nearly as good, but not quite as refined, as Ulysses). But at the end of the day, Outlinely and Bear are the bees’ knees.
I think if Ulysses supported tasks and folding (like Outlinely), it would probably take over as my favourite (although it’s slower to load than either Bear or Outlinely).
It’s great to have so many excellent options!

I agree, but I wish it was easier to move text between these various apps. Although they all either support OPML and/or Markdown to various degrees, I find that text layout (especially information about outline hierarchy) does not preserve well when moving text between these apps. I think Outlinely is particularly at fault as I often end up using Workflowy or Dynalist as an intermediary and find that works better.

Outlinely offers to export rich text outlines as OPML but does a lousy job, because it encodes HTML tags into the lines it exports—it’s a mess.
The best way to get a usable OPML outline out of Outlinely is to duplicate the outline (for safety), convert it to markdown (from the format menu), and then export to OPML.
