Don't know if anyone uses this to automate things on iOS or not — I just heard about it myself.

Anyway, the app is now free on the App Store.

This is an interesting move -- I haven't bothered to check opinions among the Apple fanboy bloggers (a bunch of party line quackers, usually), but a few months after Apple eliminates the automation group and decides its chief automation guru has no position -- so he leaves -- they make this move.

Workflow is a great product, but I assume it is a niche without a huge user base. The downside of this move is that Workflow was acting independently as a glue for developers who wanted to use approved methods to make their apps interact better with our iOS ecosystems. Now, with Apple bureaucracy in charge, will the functionality increase or will it plateau and fade into a thicket of standards and approval layers.

I don't know (use) Workflow, but I'm afraid that it isn't an appropriate substitute for AppleScript (which I use). Maybe it gets worse and Macbooks are downgraded to iPads.
