From the release notes: “Embedded Link to other documents: If you type [[Link]], clicking on the link between the double brackets will open the linked document. This feature is enhanced by Auto-completion.”
I’ve been beta testing the iOS app and this has me using the desktop app more. While the beta is still too rough to use as part of my daily workflow, the desktop app has already replaced Workflowy for me for some tasks. The developer is very responsive to bug reports and feature requests and is working to improve both the desktop and iOS apps at a very rapid pace. I hope that others on this forum can try to use it more and give feedback as well because I see a lot of potential here!

The new version (2.5) also added “Search & Navigate”—a “dialog [that] allows you to search for any topic in your outline. All topics with matched words will be rendered along with its parents topics in a Tree view. You can select any topic on the Tree view to navigate to it.” It’s a nice feature.
“Embedded Link” as mentioned about is a wiki-like feature. However the unlike in ConnectedText or DEVONthink if the destination note doesn’t exist, clicking the “embedded link” does not create that note. Maybe something this will be enhanced.

Yes, the “Search and Navigate” feature is like the “Open Quickly” feature on steroids - it’s more like the very powerful Ulysses “Open” feature in iOS, in fact.
I’m glad to hear the developer’s being responsive. I’ve been testing the iOS app, but the outlining there is currently very iffy. However, the look ‘n’ feel are pretty good.
Outlinely for the desktop has become very powerful indeed. If it keeps going, and if Bear doesn’t introduce the promised folding in the not-too-distant, I may have to transfer my allegiance (just blowing in the wind, me…)
Having said which, I do love Bear!
But OmniOutliner’s suddenly started a spirited renovation, with a brand new Pro version - for the desktop - looking quite cool (although still three times as expensive as anything else out there). No word yet on when that may extend to the iOS version. A free beta of the new Pro is available.

I’ve been beta testing, too. I agree that not all of the feature I need are there yet (word count, search, etc.). But it hasn’t crashed on me, it looks terrific, and the developer. Works well, and one to watch.

Recent versions of the iOS beta have made great strides. Most of the bugs have been quashed and it now supports drag-and-drop reordering, search, highlighting, etc. For me this is already the solution to the problem which led me to these forums in the first place: the lack of a decent native iOS outliner that synced with the desktop. There are a lot of features I’d still like to see implemented or improved on both platforms, but I’m already using Outlinely as part of my daily workflow.
