New version of iThoughts launched today (more at http://toketaware.com/blog/2016/10/10/v4-released Now includes Markdown, which is cool. In fact, although the Mac version is quite pricy, I'm tempted; iThoughts is one of the more pragmatic mind-mapping apps around, ideally suited for note-taking as well as sketching out ideas.

I contacted Craig at iThoughts and he indicated that version 4.0 is a free upgrade from version 3.0. I had bought mine through the app store, and it upgraded to 4.0 at no cost. But you can't use an older operating system with it.

iThoughts is worth every penny. It is the only software I own that has been in my Dock since v1. Many many features to recommend it. It is a note taker, a task manager, a project planner, a front-end to numerous document editors and other mind mappers, capture text from the web (with the free Safari extension), built to work seamlessly with Marked, Ulysses and others ... I could go on and on. The combo of iThoughts on the desktop and on iOS is perfect and makes working back and forth between devices effortless. On top of it all, Craig Scott -- the sole developer behind this -- is a gem.
