Bear Beta for Mac is out today with a great Clipper for Safari and Chrome. Clips web pages as markdown. Sync to IOS. Great app shaping up here.

Hot damn! That is a neat feature! Even more convenient than Keep Everything!
And the nice developer has reassured me that Bear will soon have text folding (at e.g. headers), as well as its current ability to fold completed tasks and images.
It’s shaping up to be a very nice app indeed.

I’ve just saved Paul’s update on iOS 10 to Bear using the navigation bar shortcut. Now that’s seriously convenient!

Bear Writer Beta 4 is out, and has added a very nice “related tags” feature. Tags appear in a tree down the left-hand side; where notes have multiple tags, they are used to create branches; all the tags appear in the main list (“trunk”), but where tags have been paired with other tags in notes, those paired tags have arrows next to them that unfold to reveal the other tags they’ve been paired with. Thus:
A note has tags: “test” “bill” “wow” in it.
The list has
>bill
test
wow
>test
bill
wow
>wow
bill
test
(hope that comes out okay!)
It’s a rather neat way of drilling down through notes with relationships; you can also now link to notes from other notes.
Bear is definitely turning into one of the more elegant Markdown editors out there. I’m not currently running the iOS betas; is anybody else using those?
And the developer intends to add in-note folding in the near future, too (completed tasks already fold)!
Cheers,
Bill
