TapForms Organizer -- a "customizable database" for OS X and iOS -- is getting upgraded from v3.x to a new v5 on August 4. When Apple killed off Bento years ago, TapForms became the replacement for lots of folks. I think it's pretty good -- although the sync from OS X to iOS has been unreliable and somewhat confusing. Problems that are supposedly fixed in v5. The owner announced a "48 hour sale" starting on August 5, for purchases through his site. I am not sure what happens with customers who purchased through the App Store.

The new versions were released today. I'm not impressed -- v5 does not improve much over v3, and the sync between OS X and iOS is no better. Sync seems to be one-directional over WiFi. The "cloud" option is not iCloud but, oddly, is IBM Cloudant. Release notes unhelpfully say that Cloudant may or may not charge a fee.
TapForms (without sync) is still a good product, but I wouldn't recommend investing in an upgrade.
