New version of Em Client, IMO the best software of this kind, is out: http://www.emclient.com/ Among other improvements: the interface is better and emails can (at last) be ordered by thread.

Recently, I started using it together with Workflowy. There is an option to set webpage widgets inside the client. Unfortunatelly, you cannot access the whole workflowy outline, only the shared ones.
