Hi,
I see that 3D TopicScape Pro will be on sale at Bits du Jour a week from today. Does anyone have any experience with this program, and, if so, what is your opinion. I would appreciate any input you might have. Thank you.

Is this a joke? Is this supposed to be 3D? It is just raised 2D, the info is still laid out on the plane. It’s a plain tree which has in fact no chance to display connection between two items from different branches. So it is even worse than for example The Brain which displays graph (richer structure than a tree).
This is 3D: http://morcego.arca.ime.usp.br/tiki-index.php

Quant, I enjoy your posts—there’s seldom any question as to where you stand, and it’s always satisfying to read an opinion firmly held, and stated without equivocation.
Having played with Topicscape in past, and tempted to get it as a deal, I wonder whether there is not a single redeeming word you can say for it?
I find the layout interesting—it is a different way of seeing it than that of a typical mind map—all of which seem to look more or less than the same in spite of competition and a glut of over-priced products.
As for The Brain, I find it is too confusing for mine, for my own generic brain, that is.
But then I checked out the 3D product you recommended, and was genuinely confused.
Quant, is there in your estimation a need for such a product? If so, what is the need, and how does it offer any improvement to the way that we work?
This is a serious question, and I appreciate any response you can offer.
Thanks.
