Are OneNote users aware of the numerous OneNote powertoys:
Here’s a sample. Unfortunately, I lost the url. Treeview powertoys might be of greatest interest.
ONENOTE 2007 SOFTWARE
Calendar Add-in gives you a calendar view of all of your notes, allowing you to view them by when they were created or modified. There is a preview pane that allows you to view your notes. (3rd Party recommendation by Microsoft’s Daniel Escapa & Mr. Mobile)
Export Outlook Notes to OneNote, exports all of your Outlook Notes to OneNote.
Favorites PowerToy works like Internet Explorer’s “favorites” by saving the paths and locations of your OneNote Notebooks. (3rd Party recommendation by Microsoft’s John Guin)
Image Rotator Powertoy - While it’s easy to rotate ink or drawings you create, images cannot be rotated—until MSDN’s Gary Neitzke wrote this Image Rotation Tool.
Journal to OneNote Importer lets you import your Windows Journal files from your tablet into OneNote.
MakeSubpage PowerToy takes the the currently selected page(s) and make then a subpage(s). (Support: MSDN)
Media Fine Tuner Powertoy is for people who take notes while recording audio, The Media Fine Tuner allows “moving” the start time of the notes you typed and aligning them with “where” in the audio you want the note to play.
Merge Pages PowerToy (written by Microsoft’s Jeff Cardon) merges selected pages together by “selecting the pages you want to merge and click the merge toolbar button.” (Thanks again John Guin)
Notebook Cleaner and Privatizer Powertoy add-in is used to prepare a “shared” notebook for distribution. When started it will do several things:
Reset all navigation points to the top most page of each section, and the top most section of each section group
Removes selection from content so the cursor will be in the title box
Clears Author and LastModifiedBy items
Printout Manager take slides decks printed to OneNote and break them up into one slide per page.
Project Gutenberg: ImportText PowerToy imports “Project Gutenberg” (gutenberg.org) texts into OneNote.
“Search and Replace” Powertoy.
Send to OneNote from file explorer by right-clicking on a file(s) and selecting “Send To OneNote 2007”
Sort Pages and Sort Sections PowerToys from Microsoft’s Daniel Escapa
Table of Contents PowerToy from Microsoft’s Nani Courten, creates a list of the most recently changed pages.
Table Sum Powertoy add-in will sum the columns of a table for you and add the new row to the bottom. It ignores non-numeric values in the column. It’s only requirement is that you need to click in a table to select it before hitting the Sum button (although it will prompt you for clicking the table if you need to).
Task Requests from OneNote Meeting Notes Powertoy provides a method to assign Outlook tasks to others during meetings.
ReadOnly Selection Add-in will make the currently selected section ReadOnly, so that that section cannot be changed (unless you hit the ReadOnly button again then it will be editable again).
TextImporter PowerToy allows you to navigate to a folder on the hard drive and import all the TXT files into OneNote. It creates a new section with the name of the folder on the hard drive as the section name.
Web Exporter Plug-in to export your OneNote 2007 notebooks as an interactive web site.
Word Count counts the number of words on a page.
