IQTell Subfolder Question

I am re-evaluating IQTell now that they have funding for the next year or two. I have spent some time with their tutorials and extensive video collection, but am not clear about how their subfolders in Actions and Projects work. I know that in Todoist, clicking on a parent folder normally displays any subfolders as well as their tasks and subtasks in the center pane. And, if you want to focus (hoist) a specific subfolder, you just click on the folder and only its contents and child folders/tasks are displayed. This does not seem to be the case in IQTell. As far as I can tell, the folders do not seem to take on any hierarchical properties. I cannot find any information about how these work, and their help forum seems to be mildly active. Any users who can further elaborate on this?
Thanks,
—Ken
