In the Year End Crimping thread, someone mentioned they thought The Soulmen were just tweeting Ulysses, that it had plateaued. Not wanting to hijack that thread, I started this new topic just to say that I think they are concentrating right now on getting a version done for the iPhone, so that may be what has slowed development. At least I hope that’s all it is.

Is further progress desirable (other than with the promised iPhone app, and keeping abreast of OS10 and iOS upgrades)? Possibly this is a heretical question, but one of Ulysses’s major attractions to me is its pick-it-up-and-run-with-it simplicity.

Stephen: I just looked at the Ulyssesapp Twitter account. I can’t find a tweet stating that “The Soulmen were just tweeting Ulysses, that it had plateaued”.
And I am with Hugh: I am fully satisfied with Ulysses as it is now. Right now, there is no feature I’d want them to add. I even questioned their Medium export feature they recently added. When I asked on Twitter why the did add that, they replied they are going to add more export filters/interfaces in the next months.

Franz. My bad. I meant to write that someone in the Year End thread had suggested that The Soulmen were just TWEEKING the app, not that they were tweeting about it. (Although maybe it was auto correct, because when I wrote “tweeking” a moment ago it tried to correct it to twerking. On the whole tweeting is better than twerking.)
I have no problem with keeping the app as simple as it is. I’d like to think, though, that The Soulmen are clever enough to keep it simple and add some useful features I may not have even thought of.

In fairness, I’d like to be quoted for what I actually wrote in the other thread—which was generally about my satisfaction with Ulysses as is:
“I think Ulysses has plateaued—in a graceful way. It’ll continue to be a workhorse even with no major new changes—I’ll be glad to be wrong, but it seems The SoulMen are mainly producing tweaks, now.”
I didn’t mention the iPhone version because, well, that other thread is about personal interests and I don’t care about the iPhone version (or much about the iOS version either). Just my opinion.
