Sad news for those of us who thought NoteSuite was once the most promising of information managers, with its automatic cross-referencing system and so on.

I'm not exactly surprised. The company blog went completely blank about two years ago, and people's apparent attempts to contact the company via their Twitter were reacted to with annoyance by the company representatives. They said they had an iOS version of NoteSuite in late-stage beta development, but again, that was years ago.

It's too bad. I'm wondering whether Evernote bought them...considering the timing of EN's recent overhaul announcement?

The iOS version was released and is very good, but they had to remove the auto cross-referencing function because it slowed the whole app down. Shame, in view of the processing power of e.g. the iPad Pro.

Interesting conjecture about Evernote, however. I wonder!

The LinkedIn profile for Peter Tamte (President, Theory.io -- NoteSuite's owner) states:

"Theory was acquired by a large software company in Fall 2014"

Tamte reported to for Steve Jobs when Tamte worked at Apple a couple of jobs before Theory.io. Perhaps it would be obvious who the "large software company" might be, given old loyalties?

A pity. Its leadership (see Paul's post above), its initial applications and, IIRC, its funding suggested that good things might follow.

Now the field of significant Evernote competitors has been reduced - which is also a pity if you believe, as I do, that competition is generally a good thing.

i am wondering if anyone knows how to export data from notesuite , i was unable to synch my data to icloud and dint really bother (this was when it was still being supported)
i could not use the export tool as i dont have an ipad, my challenge is that i am unable to access my PRECIOUS DATA from notesuite because it kept crashing and would not open
i had not upgraded the OS its still10.8.5 ,i can acess the data library but thie file are in .dnt & dti format and i cant read them any help or assistance will be welcome thanks
