I’d just add that the title of this thread is not entirely correct, as the solution is not a ‘Chrome app’ per se (as in ‘an app you can download from the Chrome Web Store’). Rather, the offline feature only works in a Chrome browser:
“Works in Chrome on Windows, Linux, Android, Chromebook, and Mac* for now.
* Except iOS. Apple doesn’t allow non-WebKit browsers on its devices, so Chrome on iOS is basically Safari under the hood.”
But there is a suggestion in the FAQ that Firefox is also expected to support this offline mode eventually.
