If you dismiss the request to sign up, the program stores the data locally and it is free.
Honest. I tried it but for the reasons I previously described I decided it was not for me. I can see its appeal though - you may find it worthwhile.

Well then, maybe it’s just buggy?
I tried “dismissing” that panel using the “Close” button, and using the Escape key, with the same result in both cases - and this was/is repeatable.

Perhaps, but it worked for me when I tested it. Sorry you could not test it. No matter because in my opinion there are lots of better programs of this sort.
You find InfoSelect to meet your requirements, don’t you?

No, InfoSelect is not my primary PIM anymore as it no longer meets my (changed) requirements, though it is my secondary PIM.
MS OneNote (Office 2013) is my primary PIM and not only meets most of my needs but also helped me to discover new requirements that older PIMs do not meet.
That doesn’t stop me having a continuing interest in what other PIM tools are out there and trialling them.
Currently seriously interested in Zotero, Wezinc and WizNote. The latter is arguably a “killer app.” as someone called it.
The best PIMs requre an investment of time in exploration.

Well, I installed Leadertask on a flash drive today. While I could get the sign up screen to disappear, I could not get anything to happen after that. I tried several times with the same results. Frustrating and disappointing.
