I am used to marking up MS Word documents with Track changes, but I know need to mark up a large PDF file for somebody to see my proposed changes. Upon my asking for assistance from our IT staff, my copy of Acrobat Reader XI has just been upgraded to the new Acrobat DC Pro. But, I have not had any previous experience marking up PDF files for somebody else to read. I can dig into Adobe’s help files, but I am also facing a time crunch and I do not wish to search for features that might not exist (in the program or otherwise). Is there a good primer on how to mark up PDF files so somebody else can later easily accept or reject your changes? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
—Ken

Adobe has simplified help for commenting here:
https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/topics.html#dynamicpod_reference_7
Basically, you send your collaborators a copy of the PDF. They markup or comment. They export their comments (Adobe creates the export) and send them to you. You merge their comments in your master copy. You accept, modify, or reject the changes.
It’s best if everyone is on the same version of Acrobat.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for this tip. It sounds useful, and I am glad that Adobe has realized that their PDF format is used for more than just presentation of information. The file that I had to comment and edit did not originate with me, and in the interest of time, I just used their add comment feature. It is not ideal, but it is better than nothing. But, if I should originate a PDF document in the future, I will have to give this some consideration.
Thanks,
