Seems to come up on BDJ periodically…. I did see on the offer page that the install has be be done on the day of the offer. It does support a portable install and launch from a USB, so that at least provides an option to install it to USB for free Monday and then check it out later at one’s leisure…..

What are the pros and cons of All My Notes vs Whiz Folders, My Info or Right Note? Am tempted to try it but wonder how it fits in the existing market? Thanks.

It is certainly hard to pass up free, but I am a bit gun shy as this was one of the programs I had opened, and it connected with thier server, right before I was told my machine was having “conversations” with servers in eastern Europe and Germany (i.e. Angler Exploit). I am clearly not saying that this program was the source of the issue (as I believe that I had also visited MyInfo’s website as well that morning), but as I was not given any additional information from our IT staff, I am a bit weary of another download from their server(s).
Having said that, the author seemed like a nice fellow when we exchanged messages, and the program had some nice features, but the UI was certainly a throw back to the Win95 days. You can tame it a bit, but it is highly embellished and certainly an antidote to Apple’s current iOS UI. We discussed the program a bit in this thread: http://www.outlinersoftware.com/topics/viewt/5796 if you want to read a bit more. IIRC, the website had good screenshots and help files, so you could probably evaluate the program before making any decision.

I got it from BDJ a couple years ago but never really used it much. I brought it up this morning and also did a quick review of the website. Don’t take this as a comprehensive review but it appears to be a standard two-pane outliner. I didn’t see anything to set it apart from others. I did notice that you can put active checkboxes in the notes pane, which is unusual.
I don’t think it’s nearly as powerful as MyInfo, Ultra Recall, InfoQube, or Zoot. There are no fields and no tags. I prefer the look and feel of RightNote, which does have tags (but no fields).

Not that hard—this is basically a limited free trial with restrictions on installation. No support or upgrades, and according to the dev’s answers in the comments, a major upgrade is coming soon. If you really want to spend enough time and effort to evaluate the program, the 1-year license for the full version for $9.97 through the same BDJ offer, which includes upgrades and support, may be a better deal than the free trial.
That said, unless I am missing something, I don’t see the program as competitive with what most of the people in this group are likely to be using.
