An old thread, but worth adding a few words of caution.
About Tinderbox, I don’t know.
But about Devonthink and DevonAgent, I do.
.
DEVONagent has become one of my essential tools for information hunting on the Internet.
Not just on the Worldwide Web, but anywhere on the visible Internet.
DEVONagent’s UI is downright ugly, but the search functions are very powerful.
I recommend the program.
.
DEVONthink, on the other hand, the advertisements say, “YES!”.
I say, probably “no”.
For deep academic or scientific research, or rigorous legal searching, DEVONthink is very good.
Perhaps “best in class”.
But at a more relaxed level of information gathering, no.
DEVONthink has such a steep and long learning curve that it could take a few years of frustration before a positive return on time invested.
It took me six months of frequent use just to realize that.
DEVONthink is now unused on my Mac.
To confirm my opinion, look carefully at their forum.
There is a lot of frustration on display there.
(And DEVONthink offers no outliner functions worthy of the name.)
For anyone seriously interested in either DEVONagent or DEVONthink, I can say more.
