Anything else in the Info Select - AllMyNotes neighbourhood these days?

Notecase Pro is another one that tends to be mentioned.

I see what you mean, and $17 Euros is cheap.
All these software people seem to be in eastern Europe, eh? It’s probably that they can sell at a price which people will pay, as the creators need fewer US dollars or pounds to make a living, compared to a US or other western country.

I should add: Notecase Pro ha the best website I’ve seen. I’m often frustrated by how bad some websites are which are trying to sell their software product. (The example which come to mind is MyInfo, but there are a number of others.) Notecase Pro is close to perfect. The gallery of screenshots should be an example to anyone building such a site.

As a long-standing but somewhat critical IS (InfoSelect) user, I am constantly on the lookout for, and trialling alternatives to the otherwise excellent IS version8 that I have settled with (having trialled IS9 and IS10 and found them wanting). I will be interested in trialling IS11 when it comes out (recently mooted in the IS User Forum in Yahoo groups, but I don’t have high hopes for it after previous disappointments.
.
Sadly, in the “really useful and also with a flexible tree category”, have found nothing that yet meets my peculiar and/or occasionally newly-discovered requirements better than OneNote.
I had initially started using ON on a “suck-it-and-see” and temporary basis, but found that its expanding range of functionality, ease-of-use, rock-solid stability, ongoing forward development/improvement by Microsoft, coupled with its full integration with the MS Office suite (including OLE), Internet Explorer and the Windows OS + SkyDrive make it a compellingly useful system.
.
I am still trialling or re-trialling PIMs however - for example, over the last 4 weeks or so:
* re-trialled Zoot (still not meet my requirements)
* re-trialled IS10 (still not meet my requirements)
* re-trialled MyInfo (still not meet my requirements)
* re-trialled myBase (still not meet my requirements)
* and have just started trialling GS-Base (cost US10 on BitsDuJour recently)
* and of course am still trialling MS OneNote (cost USD10 for MS Office Pro Home Use programme, which includes OneNote, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher, Lync, Infopath).
The difficulty with the latter point is that OneNote is so good and MS Office is now such an incredibly powerful and useful suite (e.g., especially with the latest Excel + Access improvements) for data-munchers like me, and it is all so well-integrated, that it’s almost enough to stop one from seeking “that perfect PIM”.
However, I remain skeptical.
Having said that, I still use IS8, and don’t need to migrate my data out of it just yet. It is still rock-solid, though a recent Win8.1-64 PRO update seems to have left it with an annoying “display refresh lag on update to display” problem.
By the way, I run IS8 on two laptops under one licence, and IS only objects to that if you use them simultaneously when they are online. IS8 “phones home” to the Miclog.com licence server when it is online, and thus the miclog licence server can see that a unique licence is operating from two different MAC addresses at the same tome, or something.
The workaround is to disable one or the other instances of IS8 at the firewall. I never actually need to use both instances of IS8 simultaneously, or through the firewall. The laptops are at different locations, and I may have left one online, with IS8 running, but inactive, when I start the other up - e.g., if I want to (say) share data between the two devices. The home laptop is thus being used a bit like a NAS (Network Attached Server).

!!!!! My license was an online upgrade. Could you advise how I can get IS on my other computer? I don’t need both at the same time. Tech support is only good for a year and they may not speak to me if I don’t cough up another $100 for explanation.
By the way, IS 3 would still be sufficient for my needs if it worked on Wni7. I still have the disks!
As for these others, my short list is now Wikipad, KeepNote, Treepad, and Notecase Pr.
