First post here, thanks for all this wonderful information.
Quick question about the forum:
The downloadable text archive “Forum Text File” (os_messages.zip) seems to be a bit out of date. Last message there is from 2015-02-10.
Is this archive updated regularly?
Thanks!

Hi, and welcome to the forum. I have been only updating the text forum archive occasionally (just updated it again). Since there is still interest in it, I will set up a scheduled job to update it.
Thanks,
Chris

Thank you, Chris!
My primary interest for asking this is to find a way of reading this forum in my mail client (Thunderbird), like a mailing list.
This makes it easier to manage the posts, e.g. mark them as read, flag them, sort them, show them threaded/unthreaded etc.
The subscription via FeedBurner apparently provides only daily summaries, which is inappropriate for this purpose.
Did I miss an out-of-the-box option to do this?
As a workaround I wrote a script to transform the os_messages file into an imap folder. So I have at least the past messages in the format I want.
My script works incrementally, meaning it loads just enough from the beginning of the zip file from your server to get the new messages and to add them to the imap folder. So in principal it could be used day-to-day for importing new posts.
So, yes, I would be grateful if you could set up a scheduled job for generation of os_messages.zip
Cheers
Thomas

Thomas, I receive individual posts in my RSS reader by subscribing to http://feeds.feedburner.com/OutlinersoftwareForum?format=xml.

Thanks. Yes, but I would strongly prefer messages in mail format.
Handling sender names and threading don’t work with the feed, at least with my feed readers (Thunderbird and Tiny Tiny RSS). And the feed doesn’t go back more than 20 messages.
