I can't imagine writing without WordWeb Pro - a much better dictionary and thesaurus than is built in to any word processor and since it reads from the screen, it is available to you within every program.

Also, if you need more reference horsepower, you can add the Oxford New American Dictionary ($29) and the Oxford Shorter English Dictionary ($49) which makes those dictionaries available as tabs in the WordWeb window.
