The last time anybody mentioned Opal, the reincarnation of Acta, was back in 2006 (I think).
Is anybody using this rather exotic but thoroughly traditional Mac outliner?

I use it, and I like it for its simplicity and lack of exoticism - when I need to use a Mac outliner that’s simple and unexotic. (In passing it’s worth recording that on this forum I think it’s been mentioned several times since 2006; I and others have mentioned it and its developer, David Dunham, has also contributed.)

Perhaps I should explain why I see Opal as “unexotic”, Bill. Compared with Tinderbox, of course it is. But Tinderbox is sui generis. Compared with, say, OmniOutliner, Opal is somewhat simpler. But I started using Opal alongside Neo and its predecessor TAO: you just have to look at TAO’s user interface (for example: http://www.macupdate.com/images/screens/uploaded/JPG/13891_scr.jpg) - now that’s exoticism!
