CmapTools from
has some updates. There is now an iPad app (CmapTools), a cloud, and and update to the desktop app (new version 6) that takes advantage of the Cmap cloud for sharing maps between the iPad and desktop. The cloud is free—the iPad app has an in-app purchase ($4.99) to activate cloud syncing. Working with the iPad app, it seems well-featured and compatible with Cmaps created on the desktop. iPad export options are limited—as an image file—there are more choices on the desktop. Neither the desktop nor iPad app export OPML or text.
For Mac users, the version 6 has a Java compatibility problem and will fail to open. I’ve found that there is an alternate launcher (“LaunchCmapTools’) in the “IHMC CmapTools/bin” folder, which activates the JAR correctly.

Paul, thanks for the heads-up. I didn’t realise there was an update in May 2014 as well:

It looks like they’ve added more controls for the node formats, and an option to not have to insert linking phrases (which was one reason I switched to VUE in the past). in any case, good to see the project is still alive.
