I’ve never actually looked at Diigo before (thought it was just a social bookmarker), but having just looked at their premium price plans (which sound fairly reasonable), it struck me that this more or less seems to offer what Evernote, OneNote, Clibu etc. offer, minus the desktop app.

They do seem to have a pretty extensive suite of add-ons for capturing stuff and adding notes, perhaps even more then some of the above?
Anyway, it would be interesting to hear from a user, especially someone who had also tried Evernote etc., whether it’s any good as a primary notes database (at least for clipped content).
It’s also interesting to see in the comments that users are comparing it to WorkFlowy (which in my mind is an entirely different category). Perhaps adding clipped content is the next frontier to tackle at WorkFlowy? They seem to be priced quite similarly.

Earlier today I looked at Diigo, and wasn’t impressed with it as an outliner.
But your post made me look at the premium plans, and that plus what you had written, has convinced me to give a premium plan a try.
Will let you know what I think.

I was disappointed to see today that DIigo does not do an accurate copy and paste of a web article into the outline as a note. It didn’t recognize paragraphing or bring in pix. At least Workflowy recognizes paragraphing.
It would be nice to see a document accurately displayed in-line in the outline.
The extension Diigo recommends for Chrome does not work at all. Joy!
The Diigolet toolbar button works pretty well.
