This morning I received an email from Eric that was addressed to a large number of people, presumably the people on the former ADM Fan Yahoo group, announcing that ADM beta build 476 was available, and that ADM was nearing completion of its work prior to final release of ADM4.
I hope that this and following communication and action from ADM will prove me wrong in what I wrote yesterday on the other ADM thread.

Thanks Daly - This is good news. I am going to start using ADM again - it does have a number of unique capabilities that make it quite compelling now that it seems its future is looking more certain…
I particularly needed its ability to:
Rapidly autoregister large numbers of files
View all common doc types in the internal tabbed browser
Browse the web internally (including usie Google Desktop Search inside ADM)
Save web pages directly from its browser as mht web archives to disk - then attach them to a Topic
Easily build and organize a whole set of interelated notes around that - and be able to easily find anything with its full text search
Excellent metadata for annotating/organizing/re-locating everything
I generally like to keep all my saved web pages, ppt, xls, .doc, pdf etc files on disk because there is no PIM product that can search as well as X1 or the likes - then once I’ve found what I’m looking for, quickly link it into ADM - and then view it internally thereafter….
and so on and so forth….

Ian, you’re welcome.
Unfortunately for me the problem that caused me to stop using ADM back in early summer, that is some bizarre behaviour affecting my ability to work with metadata tagas has not been dealt with because Arne was not able to duplicate the problem. I have asked Eric about the possibility of ADM code having become corrupted on my machine, and how I might best do a new install without losing data and existing columns.
I sincerely hope that ADM cleans up its program, but I think I surely choke if I see one more mention of Skype.
I also hope that ADM makes it a priority to bring its web site into line of good business practice, and deal with the issue of people paying for betas.

This is a v good point. I believe you have a good relationship and high opinion (integrity) of Eric, so would you care to drop Eric a friendly private note and query what is going on here for all our peace of minds?
Best Regards, Ian

Ian, I have previously made Eric aware of my thoughts re the web site and the betas, and I also emailed him on the ADM Developer group asking him to follow the previous thread on this site regarding ADM and my comments yesterday. I hope that he has done that.
