Good morning everyone: Not strictly an outliner question, but I am wondering if anyone in this group has found a way to incorporate IFTT into their workflow. Most of what I do is done locally, on my own computer. I tend to like to do things that way. Then, if I am not attached to a network, I can still get work done.
However, looking at IFTT, it occurs to me that I might be able to use it in my current system(Not that it is real systematic, but I have cobbled together some stuff that works for me.) Also, now that I am a real, live faculty member, I have more stuff that needs to be watched. Classes, seminars, faculty meetings grant deadlines etc. And I have taken on a couple of new responsibilities as well. So, on top of the other organizational challenges I have(I wrote about that a while back. Still working on it.) I also have scheduling issues. I keep my calendars locally, but they all feed back onto Google Calendar, because that is the calendaring system that the University uses.
At any rate, the simple question-Does IFTT help you, and if so, how?
Jim.
p.s. I have been working though the long term scheduling/organizing issues that I raised in an earlier thread. Once I have something that works, I will get back to the group. I got a lot of good suggestions(As I knew I would.)and I am sorting through them. Of course, classes start soon, and grant deadlines are looming so it may take me a while to get thing that work into place.

I think my only active ifttt recipe right now is that whenever I save an article in Feedly, it gets put into Evernote. Very handy.
I need to investigate other available ifttt channels and recipes.

Thanks for the links. The Trello recipes are linked to a book entitled TrelloDojo. It is the first I have heard of it, but it sounds interesting. I use both Trello and Asana, but have come to appreciate the beauty of Trello’s client apps for Android and iOS. I just wish Asana would get moving on a better native app.
I have been off and on interested in IFTT, but was alwasy curious about security issues. I do, however, like to have a companion task app that communicates well with my calendars, so my mailbox is not the only place that written notices are available for me to review, regardless of what device I am using. I have used Pocket Informant, Toodledo, Trello and Asana in one form or another, but have yet to find the perfect arrangement. I suspect that I will get there some day, but then somebody will stop supporting a piece of software and I’ll probably be back to square one.
