Am I accurately perceiving that MyInfo 4 has is not offered at all for trial? The trial downloal remains as version 3.6.

MI4 was made available yesterday to existing customers.
Share-It supposedly offers it as a trial, and has indicated as such on their site, but in fact haven’t changed the software from MI3 to 4,
That’s not the only beef I have with Share-It.
First of all, they won’t accept orders from a Gmail account. So much for being customer friendly.
I had to use a normal account so I was at work and used my work account when I paid.
I forgot to take the resulting registration info home so I emailed them last night to send me the data. They did not.
As a result I had no access last night to the new final MI4. I was pissed.
When just about everyone else in the world now accepts Gmail and its dots instead of underscores, I don’t see why Share-It can’t get with the program.
I had to use their “contact us” process which they promise is no more than four steps. Again, customer friendly. Not.
The process is one of those where you answer a whole bunch of questions so they don’t have to do their job of figuring out where the email belongs.
I also pointed out to them that they are charging $24.95 US and $27.09 Canadian, and that since the Canadian dollar is now worth more than the American that they are doing a little price gouging. $2.15 to start with, plust the four or five percent greater value of our dollar. We should be paying about $23 Canadian.
Canadians have long paid more than the exchange rate on many items, sometimes 10 percentage points or more—books are a good example, even those books printed in Canada and exported to the US.
I wrote to Petko at MI with me beefs about Share-It, and suggested he find another vendor.
By the way, I have used the MI4 beta, and there are a lot of good changes. No hoisting though.

Here is a copy of my post to the MI forum this morning that deals with Stephen’s question and my concerns about Share-It:
*********
Petko, I appreciated your efforts to accommodate people like me who couldn’t buy at noon yesterday.
But I am ticked off at Share-It.
First of all, they do not accept orders from Gmail, unlike just about everyone else in the world.
So I used my work account, and of course forgot the registration data at work last night.
I surfed to Share-It and could only find an order placed on my home account (not the Gmail account). Their site isn’t flexible.
I contacted Share-It through their “contact us” system that promises no more than “four steps”. Not very customer friendly. The four steps entail answering questions so they don’t have to bother sorting the email that comes in—but it is sometimes a pain in the butt to have to figure out which question is most suitable.
Of course I did not hear back from them right away with the reg data I had requested, having given them the work account to validate my right to what I was asking. So last night I did without MI4 pro.
So I decided to download the trial edition, which is indicated to be MI4.
But it is not. Share-It has not replaced MI3 with MI4 (Stephen Diamond has a note to that effect this am in http://www.outliner.software.com )
I also pointed out to Share-It that the pricing of MI4 does not reflect the fact that the Canadian dollar is higher by a few cents than the US dollar.
MI4 is $24.95 US and $27.09 Canadian. So in addition to paying $2.14 more, we are also paying an additional few percentage points on top of that—and that spells gouging. Canadians were taken advantage of in many ways when our dollar was less than the US dollar. Now that it is clearly more, it is time we got to benefit, especially on purely electronic transactions.
Petko, I wish you could find a more user friendly vendor—at least one that accepts Gmail. If Gmail is good enough for Amazon.com it should be good enough for Share-It.
Thanks.

The entire Milenix web site seems to have fallen behind the pace of events. They’re not yet offering v4 for sale, either, and there does not seem to be any place to see the difference between Standard and Pro editions. My guess is that they’re swamped with the v4 rollout.

Most places processing software sales don’t accept free email addresses, due to fraud.
I have to agree on unreasonable rates of exchange on Share-It. Luckily, I can switch back to USD and pay in USD, some time ago I counted the difference and it was about 20%, that’s a lot.
